Philosophy

As a Nutritionist, I believe that eating right does not need to be difficult, expensive, or a struggle. In fact, it's quite the opposite -  I teach my clients to simplify and learn to enjoy nourishing natural foods. Together we identify and reduce stressors around food.

While everyone deserves to feel great and have their body function optimally, it can be very hard to do so without having the proper tools and knowledge.  We live in an age where there is massive conflicting information readily available to us. We are over-exposed to pop-culture nutrition, and the marketing of diets and miracle fixes. It can become overwhelming to know what's right for you. I am qualified to guide you to health and wellness by using science-based research.

I don't believe in quick fixes but instead lasting changes that shift your life toward thriving. I strive to empower you to make bright choices with foods that will get you feeling your best. Eating whole foods, the way nature intended us to eat, can do wonders for the body. When making informed choices, food can cure ailments, reduce excess body fat, and dramatically increase your life experience.

Everyday in our society I hear things like... "well that's just the way it is... "headaches, bad breath, poor sleep, low energy, excess fat, "I just keep gaining weight, I don’t have time to change, it's just part of getting older, and it's just not convenient."

Many fall victim to symptoms and become reconciled to living with poor health. Well, I won't settle for that and neither should you. I believe that with both nutrition and lifestyle shifts, you can learn a new normal.  A better normal. A life that is not dependent on sugar in the afternoon and coffee throughout the day. I empower my clients to make changes that can take them from surviving to thriving.  I don’t believe there is one diet plan that is the best suited for everybody. I believe in bio-individuality. Together we create individualized plans, unique to your current state of health, wellness goals and lifestyle.

My Story

I have always been fascinated by food. I can remember as a child being curious about every bite. I wanted to know why we ate, what we ate, and where it came from. I was active, lean, and ate what general society considered to be a healthy diet. To an outsider, I appeared to be healthy. However, I didn’t feel healthy. I had a weakened immune system and a never ending list of GI distress symptoms, including constipation, diarrhea, stomach pain, anxiety, weight loss and acne.

Doctors prescribed different pharmaceuticals to “fix” my symptoms. But managing symptoms with prescription medication never felt right to me and often brought on new stresses to my body. I knew there had to be a better way. I began my quest to heal my body. I read all the health and nutrition literature I could get my hands on. I became a vegetarian and then vegan for many years. I would create glimmers of hope and then experience confusion because of the readily available popular nutrition information.

In my early twenties, I became even more determined to get answers about my health. I began studying at a University and I sought help from a highly esteemed nutritionist and incredible naturopathic doctor. Finally, I discovered the root of my health issues. I was suffering from hormonal imbalances, leaky-gut, chronic bacterial gut infection, SIBO, IBS and undiagnosed food allergies. I learned how to use food as medicine to heal my body. I created an in-depth individualized healing nutrition plan. It wasn't a quick fix, it took time, patience, lifestyle changes, will power, and my full commitment to the process.

Looking back on my journey I realize my early intuition was correct. I knew nutrition directly effected the way I felt and impacted the level in which my body functioned, but I wasn’t yet equipped with the knowledge I now have as a Nutritionist. Today, I make bright food choices and my body functions optimally. It is now my life passion to guide other people to overcome their health obstacles and live their brightest life!
